Zečević, Lazić and Kuduzović had been enroute to make a scheduled celebrity promotional appearance at a party when they were killed. The remaining Veliki Brat (Big Brother) housemates were informed of the accident off-camera.

Serbian television station B92 and Veliki Brat 2007 production company, Emotion, announced in a press statement issued on December 29 that they had decided to end the season early due to the tragic deaths of Zečević, Lazić and Kuduzović. The show had been previously scheduled to end its season on January 5, 2008. Zečević, Lazić and Kuduzović had been scheduled to return to the Big Brother house on New Years Eve as part of the season finale.

The cancellation was reportedly the first time that any Big Brother season had been cancelled anywhere in the world.

Stevan Zečević was born in 1983 and was from Novi Sad, Serbia. Zorica Lazić was also born in 1983 and was from Zemun, a neighborhood in the city of Belgrade. Elmir Kuduzović came from the city of Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and was born in 1981.
