CBS’ Edits Hurt an Otherwise Good Big Brother US 9
As an avid Big Brother 9 fan, I was ecstatic about another excited new episode of the show.
However, I was greatly disappointed by CBS’ edits on the true drama that happened in the house during all of these events. Granted, ratings are the network’s biggest priority, and I understand this fully. But this “mushy gushy” version of what actually happened in the household is nowhere near the actuality of what really went down.
Live Feed Drama

I will admit to subscribing to the live feeds. Nothing says drama like cameras on a group full of random strangers, 24/7! I have seen everything from Natalie’s X-Rated strip tease to the downright household make out fest in the swimming pool. (Let’s just say everyone has made out with everyone at some point in the household thus far.) While I was not shocked that CBS omitted this part for their broadcast, they have definitely made it seem that the cast is far more tame than they really are.

Amanda and Allison’s Crisis
Watching the drama of Amanda and Allison’s medical crisis unfold was definitely one of the scariest things I have ever seen in my life. At the time, nobody knew Allison was having a reaction. I watched Amanda faint as it happened, and then the live feeds shut off shortly after. Seeing James’ reaction and the speed at which the paramedics and nurses handled the situation, which was all shown on the CBS broadcast and not on live feeds, I was greatly impressed. However, the biggest part they omitted from the show was Chelsia’s great response when Natalie was telling the house guests Amanda was ill: “Ugh. She’s probably just faking it for attention.” Umm… Sorry to disappoint you Chelsia. Heartless, much? Congratulations CBS for making the “Head of Household” look good, despite her cruel nature.

Sheila’s Melt Down
Sheila is just plumb crazy. This washed up actress needs to be on the block
next week. (Sorry, but after hearing the umpteenth story about some actor she met in the 80s, I’m tired of her too. I cannot even imagine how the other houseguests feel!) Not only did she make the Allison and Amanda crisis all about her when they returned home, CBS completely omitted this part and they made it seem as though Allison had ganged up on her. Ruling? Sheila and Adam need to be gone, baby, gone…

Power of Veto
Subtle Jericho tie-in, CBS. Peanuts… power outages… Jericho written on all the boxes. Yeah, it would have been nice if you are using subliminal messages to just mention it. I have to admit, this is the stupidest competition I have seen in all of Big Brother. What were they thinking? I must admit, however, that I give major props to Josh and Sharon for their win and strategic choice to not use their power. Very strategic.

Seeing everything I have on the live feeds, I believe that the powers that be at Big Brother have the hardest decision of all for what they have to narrow down into three weekly episodes. For that, I give them all the credit in the world. And to all Big Brother 9 fans who do not have the live feeds? I simply say, you have no idea what you are missing!
